When i choose link post types at the new posts page (standard, video, gallery, audio, link), how could i set instead the redirection to open the link in a new window?
Thank you in advanced,
There is not option for this and you would need to do you own modifications to get the post to open the link in a new tab \ window.
It's not exactly as simple modification and its a bit beyond what we cover in support.From a high level, you would need to check the post format of each post on the loops and if its a link then you would add the link with a target="_new" to that post so that the link opens in new tab.
Hope you can implement this from there.
Thanks, for example:
No not like that.

Assuming you are using the grid layout on category pages then you will need to edit for example:
fox \ loop \ content-loop.php file and add the target="_new" to the link the title is in i.e. line 29
Now remember you will need to check if the post is of post type \ post format link before you do that.Hope you can implement this from there.
Thank you im gonna try it. :)
In the fox \ loop \ i didnt fint the content-loop.php, i have only content.php.
But in the 29 line of the content-grid.php i found this code
<h2 class="grid-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink();?>"><?php the_title();?></a></h2>
Sorry but i dont know exactly where comes the target="_new" part. :(
Sorry about that.
The file is content-grid.php i.e.
fox \ loop \ content-grid.php
And for the target you need to add it to the link tag i.e.
<h2 class="grid-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink();?>" target="_new"><?php the_title();?></a></h2>
like the above code.
That should open in a new link.Cheers.
Im so sorry i changed it, but all the links open in the same window.
You can check it: http://pezsgoakademia.hu/
For example this post:
"Három érem, három versenyen" or this one: "Nagy balatoni pezsgő & gyöngyöző teszt 2018."
Do you have any advice?
Would it be possible to get access to that file to make the edits, maybe though FTP and also wordpress admin dashboard credentials - username password - to test it out.
