Removing Demo Data

  • Butzli started the conversation

Hi, I purchased the simple and elegant theme. After the installation everything worked just fine.

I tried to import the demo file just out of curiosity. During this process something went terribly wrong. My content is mixed up with the demo file content which messed up my facebook fan page and keeps posting there.

Please help me to uninstall the demo as quickly as possible! I tried to switch to my previous theme, but the demo content is still there.

Your help is very much appreciated.

    Thank you!!

    Hi Butzli,

You will need to remove the posts, portfolio, images and menus manually as there is no way to reverse this from the theme.

If there is a backup of your site before the import then you could have you hosting provider roll you back to that and not have the demo content mixed up with your other content.

Thank you! That's what I did meanwhile and everything seems to run smoothly.

I would just like to change a few more things.

    1. How can I add more white space underneath the menu area?

    2. I have 3 badges in the sidebar. The first one fills out the whole area, but the other 2 are located on the left side of the side bar. How can I make them look more centered?

    3. I would like to move the social media icons on the very bottom of the page from the right side to the center. How do I do that?

Thank you very much for your help!!

    Hi Butzli,

Your site - http://www.usa.schwanders.ch/ - is behind a coming soon page and we would need to actually write the CSS live on the site.
Could you give us some access to by pass this and view the site?

    Hi there,

    1) For the more space between page content and menu you can use this CSS:

    2) You can use this CSS to make them look more centered:

    3) For the social icons on the footer, because of the way that area is structured this is not really possible. You can hover use this CSS to get a similar layout:

    #footer-bottom .social-list ul{

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks a lot!

The first two things worked perfectly. Moving the social icons didn't really look the way I wanted it, but i can live with the original version.
